After nearly two years of border closures because of the Covid-19 pandemic, Vietnam is planning to reopen in March instead of May as previously planned.

According to the latest proposal submitted to PM. Pham Minh Chinh by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Vietnam is set to resume international travels and welcome fully vaccinated tourists no later than the end of April, ideally on 31st March of this year. The Prime Minister also urges the plan yet with careful preparations.
As an effort to seize the opportunity of full tourism resumption, Vietnam also boosts the shot vaccination campaign and considers visa exemption for 24 countries including ASEAN Co-members. Earlier, the very first Russian tourists were welcomed at Cam Ranh International Airport, Khanh Hoa Province on 26th December 2021.
